Types of Renewable Energy

There are various types of renewable energy available nowadays. These include solar energy, wind energy, bio-gas, biomass, geothermal, hydropower, tidal, wave and hydroelectricity. Each of these forms of renewable energy has different advantages and disadvantages. In this article, we will discuss some of the most commonly known forms of renewable energy.

The first type of renewable energy is geothermal energy. Geothermal energy originates from underground water resources. It can be found on both continental and tectonic levels. For hydroelectric power, there is a source of heat from the earth like coal, petroleum and seawater. Wind can also generate hydropower.

The second type of renewable energy is ocean energy. Ocean energy is directly harnessed by a vessel or yacht. This includes ocean current, tidal ranges and waves, and storm activity. It can also be generated through tidal designs to create more energy.

The third type is wind turbines. They harness wind energy to turn turbines. Wind turbines can be installed in yards, along the coast, or in remote areas. It is used to generate electricity, but also to help with cooling, heating and air conditioning. Some of these turbines can generate enough energy to power homes.

Solar panels can also be used to harness renewable energy. Solar panels can absorb sunlight and convert it into heat or electricity. It may take the longest to develop but it is clean energy. It is also one of the most reliable forms of clean energy.

There are many other forms of renewable energy. Many homeowners and companies have invested in solar power equipment for their homes. A majority of the larger businesses own or equipment as well. There are now several smaller scale electric companies that have started using solar power as an alternative source of producing electricity.

If you live in a small town and do not have any natural sunlight, you can use hydropower. This is another form of renewable energy that has been around for decades. A huge dam near Moama City, Kansas, produces massive amounts of hydroelectric energy. When it rains, the water that falls on the dam absorbs heat from the atmosphere and heats up water coming into the area.

While some people feel that harnessing renewable energy is a burden, it is actually one of the most beneficial things that could be done. One of the main reasons we use fossil fuels is because they are readily available. It is much easier to mine coal than it is to mine oil or gas. If we all used renewable energy resources, we could free our wallets from having to pay out money to preserve the earth. In fact, if we use all of the available renewable energy sources together, we would use far less of the earth’s resources than we currently use and this would leave a very positive effect on the environment.

Wind energy production is something that many people overlook. Wind mills have been around for many years but only recently have they become commercially viable. With all the pollution in our air and on the ground, we need to utilize wind power production as much as we can.

Biofuels are also starting to come into use. This includes ethanol and biodiesel, which can supplement the world’s limited supply of fossil fuels. By utilizing these types of renewable resources, we will be able to eliminate a lot of the vehicles on the road today. If everyone drove a hybrid car, we would make the air much cleaner and this would assist in the fight against global warming. There are many people who are starting to explore the world’s renewable resources and hopefully, in the near future, we can drastically cut down on the amount of gas that is being burned for energy production.

There is also geothermal energy. With geothermal energy, the ground can absorb heat from the environment and turn it into electricity. The heat can be channeled into heating systems or used directly. Some geothermal plants are even producing electricity by using the heat from underneath the surface of the earth; these sources are much more powerful than the sun however.

These types of renewable energy are plentiful in our world. However, many people have yet to discover the power of the sun. Solar energy accounts for nearly 70% of the world’s energy production. It is a very efficient source of energy and it is capable of producing power for your home, your car and other items you care about. The benefits of using green energy far outweigh any negatives. So start using green energy and watch your utility bill begin to disappear.
